Both the Textilene © and the teak are ideal materials for outdoor use and are particularly weather-resistant. The polymeric Textilene © fabric is PVC-coated before being woven and fused, making it extremely dimensionally stable and hardwearing, even when exposed to heat. The fabric is also UV- and colour-resistant, breathable and quick-drying.

The teakwood used for the Kate recliner comes from sustainably managed plantations and is naturally resistant to rot and fungus thanks to the oils it contains. Over time, teak develops a natural, silver-grey patina.
